What do we watch on YouTube?

Give us a share

I, like many of us, spend time watching YouTube (sometimes to my own detriment). So this week’s article is going to look at some of the channels and content creators that I watch on a fairly regular basis.

Phillip De Franco

I’ve been watching the Phillip De Franco  show since 2015. Since then he has been part of my daily routine giving the rundown of the news. While his language can get a little spicy I appreciate the effort he puts in. He has such an attention to detail and makes sure he gets his facts straight. On the few times he’s had to clarify something he comes out and says it, which in modern news coverage is amazing. I love that he clearly has a passion for what he does and he doesn’t hold back on his own opinions on stories either.

Biograpahics

Hosted by Simon Whistler, over lockdown I devoured every episode I could. Biographics covers famous people from throughout history. The good, the bad and the important all make it in.  Through watching these episodes I have a newfound respect for Coco Chanel and have learnt about people like “Mad Jack” Churchill. It’s worth a listen to if you’re a history buff.

Anna Akana

Anna was another one I stumbled upon during lockdown. Her content ranges from sketches, to music to talking about psychology, mental well being and relationships. It’s that range of content that keeps me coming back.  She was one of the first content creators that really got me to think about how I felt about certain topics and challenge myself further.

Jeremy Jahns

Jeremy is the channel I think I’ve been subscribed to the longest. He primarily reviews movies but the passion and joy with which he talks about them is infectious. Best way to describe it is imagine you’ve just came out of the cinema and you’re talking with your friends about it. That’s it in a nutshell. There are some films I will never watch, but I will listen to his review every chance I get.

So those are some of the channels I’ve been watching or listening to recently. What about you? What are some of the channels you listen to? Let us know in the comment section.
